DevOps Tooling
A customisable DevOps tool suite was created to standardize deployments for a new PaaS, using secured IAM-based access and supporting both DevOps engineers and custom GitHub Runners. This solution improved tool version consistency, deployment reliability and onboarding efficiency, while simplifying configuration with standardised naming and tagging conventions.
Azure/Kubernetes IaC Transformation
This project involved a full re-architecture of an Azure Kubernetes platform to eliminate configuration drift, automate IaC, and enhance security and cost management. The solution introduced Terraform, Helm and monitoring tools, achieving fully automated deployments, multiple environment support and projected savings exceeding £500k annually in Azure costs.
Engineering Self-Service
The Engineering Self-Service project provided development teams with a self-service deployment capability, reducing reliance on DevOps and improving deployment efficiency. By automating repository management, environment provisioning and release promotions, this solution standardised processes, reduced deployment times and empowered developers, enabling DevOps to focus on strategic improvements.
GitHub Migration
Theis GitHub Migration project successfully transitioned the client from Bitbucket to GitHub, addressing key issues such as cost, security, and pipeline instability. The solution included a custom IaC suite with Terraform, granular IAM controls, self-service automation for developers, enhanced security features and bespoke CI/CD pipelines to streamline the process.
Secret Management System
The Secret Management System project replaced a vulnerable setup with HashiCorp Vault, providing secure, high-availability access to secrets across environments. Entra ID integration allowed for precise access control, while IaC and custom scripts enabled automated setup and seamless Kubernetes integration. Dynamic credential generation improved security and eliminated manual password handling.
Cloud Architecture Design
The Cloud Architecture Design project redefined the client’s Azure platform, introducing a secure, scalable solution with disaster recovery capabilities. The design provided detailed architecture documentation, cost-saving strategies, and resource management improvements. The project delivered £500k+ in potential annual savings while ensuring the platform could easily scale with future needs.
